Calculated after the US close from the eligible US common-stock universe. Volume is market context, not investment advice.
The five measurements that combine into today’s regime tag: up/down ratio, relative volume, the flow slope, distribution-day count, and the McClellan Oscillator.
Total advancing-volume ÷ total declining-volume.
Today's total $-volume ÷ 30-day average.

Unusual volume is trading activity that is materially heavier or lighter than a stock’s own recent baseline. TickerStance compares current dollar volume with the trailing 30-session average, so activity is judged against the name or group’s normal level rather than against the market’s largest companies. It is research context, not an investment recommendation.
RVOL, or relative volume, measures today’s dollar volume divided by the same stock, sector, industry, or market’s trailing 30-session average dollar volume. An RVOL of 1.50× means activity is 50% above that recent norm. It helps compare participation across groups of different sizes, but it does not by itself make an investment recommendation.
Up/down volume compares total dollar volume in advancing stocks with total dollar volume in declining stocks across the eligible US common-stock universe. A ratio above 1.0 means more volume traded in rising stocks; below 1.0 means more traded in falling stocks. TickerStance shows the daily reading and its 30-session history as market-participation context, not investment advice.
After the US close, TickerStance aggregates dollar volume and up/down volume across the eligible US common-stock universe, which includes common shares and excludes ETFs. It classifies the session from the up/down ratio, relative volume against the 30-session average, and the slope of cumulative net advancing volume. Distribution-day count and the McClellan Oscillator provide supporting context. The result describes market participation, not an investment recommendation.
